I am ecstatic to join the New Frontiers team teaching 8th grade English. I have a passion for reading and writing that I hope to instill in each of my students. My goal for this year is to create lifelong readers and writers. I not only teach my students the TX regulated content of the course, but also encourage critical thinking, lifelong learning strategies, develop creative problem solving tactics, and multi-ethnic awareness. I want to ensure that when a student leaves my classroom they have learned the content required for the class as well as resourceful skills for the future. In order to facilitate a learning enriched environment I encourage my students to draw from their personal experiences, and background knowledge.
I was born in the town of Lakenheath in Suffolk, England. My father retired from the United States Air Force, which afforded me the luxury of seeing the world. I graduated from Virginia Allred Stacey Jr/Sr high school located on Lackland Air Force Base, and received my bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Texas in San Antonio. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you this school year.
