Dr. Frank L. Madla III
New Frontiers Charter School Board President
Dr. Frank L. Madla, III is a physician, board certified in Internal Medicine. He is a native of San Antonio, Texas and son of Rosemary Segura-Madla and the late-Senator Frank L.Madla, Jr. Dr. Madla is a 1987 graduate of Texas A&M University-College Station, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Science. In 1992, Dr. Madla received a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA), where he completed his internship, residency training and Chief Residency years.
Dr. Madla’s medical career has been highlighted by six years in academic medicine as an Assistant Professor at the UTHSCSA, two years as a staff physician and medical director for the Adult Medicine Clinic at the Texas Diabetes Institute and seven years as an emergency room physician for the Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans Hospital. Since 2010, Dr. Madla has worked as a Hospitalist physician for Wellmed Medical Group in San Antonio, Texas.
His community service includes: Texas A&M University-San Antonio Foundation Board member since 2008; Texas A&M University-San Antonio Foundation Board Vice President 2008-2010; Senator Frank L. Madla Natural Area Board President since 2010; Madla Park Conservancy President since 2010 and New Frontiers Charter School Board member starting in February 2015.
Dr. Madla has been married since 2002 to Nenette Cardenas-Madla. They currently reside in Helotes at the Madla family farm, which is home to the Madla family members since the early 1860’s. He has one child, Crystal Torres and a grand-daughter, Bailey Addison.
